Vauxhall Ecotec (X20XEV) Q420 – a mechanical profile camshaft, reprofiled

Reprofiled cams are only offered on an exchange basis, and require a donor set of cams to be sent for evaluation before orders can be processed.

These are mechanical profile camshafts, designed to operate at much higher speed than standard engines. These cams consequently require solid cam followers. They also require pistons with deeper valve pockets, to accommodate the higher lift. Race quality valve springs should also be used to cope with the high rate of valve acceleration.
